Todd receives plaque for service

The city of Thayer held a retirement party Oct. 29 at the Thayer Police Department-Fire Department for dispatcher Brenda Todd.

Todd has been working full-time at the police department for about 13 years. She said before then, she was working part-time and off and on since the 1980s.

"We really appreciate what you've done," Alderman Bob Grimes said to her.

Mayor Earl "Buddy" Rogers presented Todd with a plaque for her dedication to the police department.

She said she plans on traveling during her retirement.

"I'll miss the people the most," Todd said about her job as dispatcher.
