Caleb Brown came through just when his team needed it most, scoring all 10 of Mammoth Spring's points in overtime, helping the Bears to a 64-59 home victory over Black Rock Oct. 27.
The Zebras trailed by eight points with about three minutes left to go in the fourth, but Black Rock forced Mammoth Spring into eight straight turnovers to take the lead by two points.
The Bears then came back to lead by two with 6.2 seconds left, but Black Rock's J.P. Carey took the inbounds pass the length of the floor to make a basket at the buzzer to send the game into an extra frame.
And in OT, Brown tossed in 10 of his game-high 24 points to help the Bears (3-0) escape the Zebras.
Austin Hite added 14 points, while Wes Coffey posted 13 points, eight boards and five assists. Houston Cooper scored 11 points and dished out nine assists.
In girls' action, Black Rock's Teri Aden tossed in a game-high 25 points to help the Lady Zebras to a 57-48 victory.
The junior Lady Bears opened the evening with a 41-18 smashing of Black Rock.
The junior Bears (2-1) saw their impressive 31-game winning streak, dating back to last season's perfect 29-0 mark, come to an end with a 49-37 loss to Norfork Oct. 29.
Craig Hoover scored 18 points and grabbed 10 boards for Mammoth Spring.
