A three-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection in Glencoe Nov. 24. A Corvette and a white Toyota truck were parked at the intersection of Highway 289 and 62/412 at Rega Realty for some maintenance work when another vehicle, a 1998 red Ford passenger car driven by Cornelius Coffey, coming down Highway 289 failed to negotiate the curve before the stop sign hitting the two parked vehicles. Coffey was taken to the Fulton County Hospital for treatment of injuries. He was later charged with DWI, failure to maintain control and not wearing a seat belt. The investigation was carried out by Fulton County Sheriff Deputy Lance Gray.
