It was nick-and-tuck for awhile, but the Willow Springs Bears used a big second-half push to knock off the Alton Comets 86-61 Dec. 18.
The first half was tight going and the Bears held narrow leads of 18-17 after one period of play and 36-35 at the half.
But Willow Springs turned it on in the second half and outscored the Comets 50-26 over the final two frames to post the win.
Kevin Smith led Alton with 24 points, with Kalon Honeycutt adding 15.
Mark Smith finished with eight, while Zac Roberts and Thomas Prill netted six points each.
Zane Hatten and Randy Ray logged one point apiece for the Comets.
