City receives stimulus funds

The city of Thayer received a plaque Dec. 17 from David Potthaust, with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, in Jefferson City recognizing Thayer as a recipient of some American Recovery and Reinvestment Act stimulus funds for the waste water treatment project. The plaque indicates that the city will receive $2,125,000 as a grant through the stimulus and another $2,125,000 as a loan through the stimulus that will be paid through the wast water treatment project bond that was passed in April 2009.
