Bridges appointed as Oregon County Clerk

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Gov. Jay Nixon's office announced Dec. 18 that Tracy J. Bridges, of Alton, was appointed to be the clerk for Oregon County until after municipal elections in April 2010.

Bridges, 32, was appointed to take the position after it was vacated upon the death of Gary Hensley, 58, in November. Hensley had been Oregon County clerk since 1995. He died from a heart attack.

Bridges served as deputy clerk under Hensley since February 2007. Before she took that position she was a certified teller and a customer service representative at Great Southern Bank in Thayer for 10 years.

"Tracy Bridges ably served the citizens of Oregon County as deputy clerk to the late Gary Hensley," Gov. Nixon said. "I am confident that she will continue the strong record of constituent service in her new position."
