Foley announces candidacy for Fulton County Sheriff

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Kenneth "Buck" Foley has announced he will be a candidate for Fulton County Sheriff in May of 2010.

Foley, 57, and his wife Frankie Tomlinson Foley reside in Salem. They have one son and two grandchildren. Foley is employed as a trooper with the Arkansas State Police.

Foley has over 25 years experience with the State Police and has over 2,000 training hours.

In making his announcement Foley stated, "First of all, let me thank the many citizens of Fulton County who have encouraged me to make this decision."

Foley has been around public servants his entire life, not only himself, but also his father, Kenneth W. Foley Sr. retired from the Arkansas State  Police and served as sheriff of Boone County for 14 years.

Foley stated he would institute new policies to be more efficient. One example would be security checks where deputies will be required to check your churches, business, schools and residences periodically to ensure all communities are patrolled routinely. The deputies will make a log and will attach a security notice on your door. Every community in this county will have equal patrols. Monthly reports will be provided to the citizens and quorum court to ensure the citizens are getting the best service for their tax dollars.

Foley, in closing says his personal belief is "Public safety is a basic right of citizenship, criminal behavior is not. Hardworking, law-abiding citizens should not live in fear of criminals; the criminals should live in fear of us. Together, you and I must be committed to the future of our communities and the protection of our families. With your vote I will serve as our next sheriff with honesty, integrity and total dedication to you and the future of public safety in Fulton County."
