Phillip D. Mathews, 30, of Kirbyville, was driving a 2004 Chrysler Sebring north on U.S. Highway 63 Jan. 3 when around 5:45 p.m. an accident occurred. Mathews lost control of his vehicle on the ice covered roadway, ran off the roadway, over turned and struck and embankment. Four of Mathews' passengers were injured. Starlett R. Dickinson, 46, of Merriam Woods, had moderate injuries. Brady H. Mathews, an infant, and Regina Mathews, 26, both of Branson, had minor injuries, and Shawn D. Simmons, 20, of Merriam Woods also had minor injuries. All injured parties were taken to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains for treatment. The investigating trooper was Sgt. D.D. Finley.
