Bids opened for items

The Thayer City Council met in regular session Jan. 12 and opened sealed bids on some items the city was selling.

A three-quarter ton Ford truck, water pump, old street signs and 200 feet of one inch galvanized pipe were the items being sold. The water pump went for $105, truck for $235, pipe for $1.01 per foot and the old street signs went for $152.50.

In other business, the council approved the contract from Burlington Northern Santa Fe for the Two Mile Crossing and paying for the contract fees and costs for installation and removal of the AT-Grade crossing and also approved BNSF insurance of $500.

The council approved the Municipal Court Report collection for December of $5,243.75.

The council also approved the electric licenses for Rick Martin.

More water department supplies were needed and the council approved it.

The council also approved corrections on Ordinance #1036, Bill 1035, which involved the application for electric service.

They also approved paying the city's January bills.

All department supplies for the month were approved, as well.

The Thayer City Council meet in regular session the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in city hall. The next city council meeting is scheduled for Feb. 9. The public is welcome to attend.
