A trio of Sharp County high school football players, along with one head coach, were named to the East All-Star football roster last week.
Highland linebacker Blake Martin, along with Cave City linebacker Thamail Morgan, wingback Tyler Engleman and Caveman Head Coach Jon Bradley, were selected to take part in the 55th annual All-Star football game, scheduled for June 25 at Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.
Bradley, who guided the Cavemen to a 9-2 record and trip to the Class 3A playoffs this year, will serve as an assistant to East All-Star head coach Paul Johnson, of Bald Knob.
Martin (6-1, 220) was a standout on both sides of the football for the Highland Rebels this season, whether at running back or linebacker, and was named to the Class 4A All-State team.
Morgan (6-0, 210) led the Cavemen in tackles from his linebacker spot and was named the Class 3A Defensive Player of the Year. He also racked up four touchdowns as a wingback and paced Cave City with 500 yards receiving.
Although he played in just seven games due to a knee injury, Engleman (6-0, 195) still led Cave City with 1,205 yards and 16 TDs rushing.
He is Cave City's all-time leading rusher with 3,055 yards and 40 touchdowns for his career.
