Lion's Sport Show around the corner

The West Plains Lions Club's third annual Greater Ozarks Region Outdoor Adventure Sportshow opens Valentine's Weekend. The Lion's have been working many hours, hoping to make this the best ever with a combination of the highlites of the first and second year.

Friday, Feb. 12 kicks off the weekend at 1 p.m., and closes at 7 p.m. Friday's guests include Miss Missouri, Tara Osseck, who will be at the show until Saturday at 1 p.m., and outdoor celebrites like Fly Fishing Guide Brian Wise and videographer Bob Wyble will give seminars Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday, the show opens at 9 a.m., and closes at 7 p.m. All three days will feature the Intense Archery Pop Up Tournament, National Guard Climbing Wall, Daisy BB Shoot, Don Berry's Pro Fishing and Saturday host Phillip Vanderpool of Hunter Specialties TV, and other exciting events and guests. Also Saturday, Sleep Mart will bring the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders from 1-3 p.m.

Sunday starts at noon and ends at 4 p.m., with the Mossy Oak professionals Chris Parrish and Billy Yargus. The drawing for the South African Safari will be at 3:30 p.m.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for ages 7 to 17, and 6 and under are free.

Each admission ticket is also a ticket to sign and deposit for a possible prize. All proceeds go to the West Plains Lions Club for Eye Projects and other community needs. None of these things would be possible without the help of community partners that include, Radio Stations KHOM and The Point, Holiday Inn Express, McDonalds, Budweiser, Air Evac, Hirsch Feed and Farm Supply, West Plains Savings and Loan, Coke, Broken Bow, Mossy Oak Properties and Best Western.
