Melbourne Lady Bearkat standout Sara Beth Adams will be taking her hardwood game to Batesville next fall, to play for the Lyon College Pipers.
Adams, who began her hoops career at Mount Pleasant before the school merged with Melbourne two years ago, signed a letter of intent Jan. 25 at The Arena at Melbourne.
A sure bet for a double-double every time she hits the floor, Adams is averaging 12 points and nine boards per outing during this, her senior season.
"She's a solid player and I think she's only going to get better," said Lady Bearkatz Head Coach Melbourne Bruce Adams.
Although Adams is Melbourne's go-to player deep in the paint, Piper Head Coach Tracy Stewart-Lange sees more to Adams' game than just muscle and grit down low.
"She plays mostly in the post, but she seems to be getting more comfortable shooting the ball from outside the lane," she said. "She's a great kid and she loves the game of basketball. She's somebody that I think is a quality person and she will bring a lot to our program."
