Cavewomen pay back Bergman

Revenge was on the menu Feb. 4 as the Cave City Cavewomen topped Bergman 61-40 in 3A-1 East action.

The Lady Panthers had been responsible for giving the Cavewomen their only conference loss to date. With the win, Cave City (22-2, 9-1) remains atop the 3A-1 East standings.

Cheyenne Childers had a big night with 16 points, nine steals and nine rebounds for Cave City. Lindsey Wooldridge added 18 points and Jessica Hall tossed in 11.

The Cavemen (18-9, 8-2) solidified their grip on second place in the conference with a 66-49 rout of Bergman later in the evening.

Seth Foreman went off for a career-high 29 points in the win. Zac Smith added 10 points and eight boards for the Cavemen.

The Cavewomen started the week off with a 55-33 rout of Flippin on the road Feb. 2.

Childers led Cave City with a 24-point, 12-rebound double-double.

The Cavemen had to work overtime to do so, but they beat the Bobcats in an extra frame later in the evening.

Thamail Morgan paced Cave City with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Smith added 14, Foreman had 12 and Dalton Bell finished with 11 points for the Cavemen.
