Kathy Nix of Evening Shade has announced that she will seek re-election for Sharp County Assessor.
Nix has obtained a designation as a level 4 appraiser from the Arkansas Assessment Coordination Department and serves as Floodplain Administrator for Sharp County. She served as president of the Arkansas Assessor's Association. She is a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers and also the Arkansas Chapter.
She has obtained grants for Sharp County to implement a Geographical mapping system. This mapping system is a valuable tool not only for the assessor's office, but is also used by the County Road Department, the County Clerk's Office and the central dispatch office. Nix and her staff have implemented the homestead credit in accordance with Amendment 79, the networking of the County Assessor and Collector with the Department of Finance and Administration for vehicle registration on-line or by mail.
"The assessment rules and regulations are constantly changing, which makes the job of county assessor a challenge. I would like to take this opportunity to ask the voters of Sharp County for their vote and support in the Democratic Primary on May 18," she said.
