Felony charges were finalized against Lewie Branscum of Calico Rock, to include theft of property, involving stolen guns from numerous residences and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Branscum remains in the Izard County Detention Facility. Also charged was Branscum's wife, Amanda Branscum, who is being held on theft of property charges relating to the same thefts.
Izard County deputies responded Saturday to a domestic violence call in Melbourne where the caller said a male subject had left on a black motorcycle. The cycle, driven by Samuel Luke Mallory, 18, of Mt. Pleasant was stopped at the intersection of state highways 9 and 69. The victim stated that she was in the shower and an argument with Malloy started and that she was head butted by him. Malloy remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on the charge of domestic battery third degree.
In an unrelated domestic violence call, deputies responded Thursday to a residence on County Road 82, in response to a physical altercation involving Gregory Wilson who reportedly hit his grandmother and choked another family member. Wilson remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Michael Claude Hancock, 60, of Longview, Texas, was arrested Friday afternoon.. Hancock is accused of causing destruction to a local motel room and was charged with criminal mischief second degree. Hancock remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending professional evaluation.
Connie Joe Schulte, 52, of Guion, was arrested Jan. 14 on the charge of driving while intoxicated-second offense. Schulte posted bond the following day in the amount of $2,805 and was released from jail.
A person identifying himself as Daniel Medina, 25, of Little Rock, was arrested Thursday for driving without a license. Medina later posted bond in the amount of $355 and was released from the Izard County Detention Center. A passenger in the vehicle fled the scene on foot which remains under investigation.
