Wiggam officially seeking Arkansas House seat

George Wiggam of Elizabeth announced his candidacy for state representative for House District 82 official recently. District 82 covers a portion of Baxter County, Sharp County, and all of Fulton County. Curren Everett, currently holds the seat, and is term limited will be seeking a senate seat in this election cycle. Wiggam who is currently conducting a listening tour throughout the district reported that he is pleased with the response he has received from all parties. "The action that is happening in Washington, D.C., has the district fired up." "The people I'm seeing want a conservative government, lowering taxes, making families stronger to generate better students and all around better Arkansans. Supporting both the rural fire and police departments is a needed goal." "I want to work hard to support these items and to be at every roll call ready to vote."

Wiggam has lived in Fulton County for twelve years. A retired USAF Field Grade Officer and Vietnam Veteran, George was injured during an ejection from a F-4E fighter aircraft in Germany in 1985. He continued flying another three years in F-111 aircraft in England before returning back to the US to work in the classified area north of Las Vegas, NV. His last assignment was a Base/Squadron Commander in the Republic of Korea. The post he commanded and managed was a $200 million facility along with 100 local Koreans and twelve U.S. servicemen. Major Wiggam served nearly 21 years in the USAF, enlisted and officer.

Currently he has worked thirteen years at Federal Express in Memphis, Tenn., as a flight instructor on the Boeing 727. Wiggam is 61 years old and has been married to Maureen Hodson Wiggam for 29 years, with six children between them (a Brady Bunch) and 13 grandkids.
