Terry Williams of Zion, Ark., is officially announcing that he is running for Sheriff of Izard County in the Democratic Primary on May 18 and would appreciate your help and support during the election.
Terry and his wife, Suzanne have been married for 35 years and have two children and four grandchildren. His parents are Tilman and Geba Williams and he grew up in Sharp and Izard County and attended Melbourne School before graduating from Forest Hill High School in Jackson, Miss.
Terry started his law enforcement career of 20 years at Sidney, Ark., in 1975, as town marshal. After moving to Greenville, Miss., he obtained a position with the police department in Greenville, and worked through the ranks achieving the rank of Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigations Division. While serving in Greenville, he received the Award of Honor with the Greenville Police Department.
In 2004, Terry became a deputy in Izard County and served in that capacity for two years. In 2006 he started working at the Arkansas Department of Corrections at Calico Rock, Ark., and since achieved rank as a Corporal and has received the Academics Excellence Award.
Terry is an active member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and belongs to the Masonic Lodge and is a Master Mason.
Terry will be a leader with integrity and make sure that each and every citizen is treated fairly and would appreciate your vote for Sheriff on May 18.
