Bicker seeking re-election

Friday, April 2, 2010

Jim Bicker, Fulton County Justice of the Peace, District 3, (Cleveland, Strawberry and Union Townships), is seeking re-election in the November General election.

Jim lives between the Bexar and Byron communities with his wife of 40 years, the former Sue Sanders. His two sons, Jeremy and Jed, both graduated from Salem High School and have agriculture degrees from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro.

Jim is a retired educator, having worked for the Salem Pubic School for 27 years, both as a teacher and a bus driver. He and his wife, Sue were named Educators of the Year by the Salem Chamber of Commerce in 2009. He has served the people of Fulton County both as a member of the Quorum Court from 1993-1994, 2001 to present and the Fulton County Hospital Board from 1995-2000. He is a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church where he serves on the board of Elders. He is also member of the Gideons Bible Society.

"Fulton County has been very good to me, providing a quality of life most Americans can only imagine. Given the opportunity to live anywhere, I'll choose Fulton County. The work of the Quorum Court has been quite challenging due to the economic difficulties our nation has faced the last few years, but by practicing good conservative fiscal policy, we have kept our county government in the black. We are currently faced with the need for a new jail. As a member of the jail building committee, we are working, to develop a plan to build a new facility with no additional taxes. I would ask the people of District 3 for their continued support that we might continue to move Fulton County forward. Your vote for Jim Bicker will be greatly appreciated."
