Cave City's Jarret Patterson, a 6'4", 300-pound offensive tackle for the Cavemen, recently accepted an invitation to walk-on at the University of Central Arkansas.
Most colleges only invite 10 to 15 players to walk-on each year.
A walk-on is an athlete that receives an academic scholarship initially and earns an athletic scholarship after a year in the program.
Patterson has been a two-year starter for the Caveman football team and was a member of this year's record setting team that advanced to the state playoffs.
Patterson suffered a season ending injury against Manilla in week six but did return to the team for the playoff game at Paris after his surgery.
He will join teammates Thamail Morgan and Alan Wright in continuing his football career at the college level.
