Cave City to hold baseball camps

Thursday, April 29, 2010

The Caveman Baseball Camps are scheduled for May 1 on Cave City's baseball and softball fields and indoor baseball facility, Cave City Coach Jamie King announced recently.

The first camp is for boys ages 7 to 10. It will begin at 9 a.m. and run through noon.

A mock practice with the Cave City Cavemen will take place from noon until 1 p.m. for the campers to watch and then the 11- to 14-year old group will run its three-hour session.

"Fundamentals of throwing, fielding, hitting, base running and pitching in small groups, divided by age," will be stressed, King said.

There will also be contests at the end of each station with prizes given to the winners.

The cost is $25 for campers who pre-register and $30 for campers who sign up the day of the camp. Concessions will be available.

Call Coach King at 870-283-3333 to pre-register or for more information.
