Rachel Perkins of Knoxville, Tenn., daughter of Calvin and Debbie Perkins of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Alex Rieger of Knoxville, Tenn., son of Douglas and Gail Rieger of Maryville, Tenn., were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony on Dec. 19, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. at the Lodge at Gunter Hollow, Fayetteville, Tenn. A reception followed at the Lodge after the ceremonoy.
The bride is a graduate of Lincoln County High School, holds a bachelor of arts in English education from Martin Methodist College, and will graduate in May from University of Tennesee College of Law with a JD degree. Her grandparents are Jim and Sue Perkins of Bono, Ark., and Harold and Pat Ables of Ft. Pierce, Fla.
The groom is a graduate of Maryville High School, holds a bachelor of arts degre in honors English and history from Vanderbilt University, and will graduate in May from the University of Tennessee College of Law with a JD deree. His grandparents are Albert and Barbara Rieger of Keowee Key, S.C., and the late Jesse Hais and the late Sue Hais.
The bride was given in marrage by Calvin Perkins and Debbie Perkins.The wedding ceremony was officiated by Mr. Darrell Haney of Grace Falls Church. Music and songs were by Cassie Putman, Joseph Ensminger, Ann Berlin, Tammy Haney and Matt Haney. Sarah Paige Perkins was the maid of honor.
Best man was Eric Kelsey, ushers were Derek Green, Julian Green, Sam Wood, Mike McDougal and Marcus Papa.
The bride was attired in a winter white, floor length gown with a satin and detailed bodice and tiara comb. Her bouquet was of pink Gerber daisies and white and green wildflowers. The bride's table was presided over by Diane Rozan. Servers were Sonia Bradford, Jennifer Bradford, Grey Parks, Tiffany Hagar and Jamie Carter.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia Sandals, the couple will reside in Knoxville, Tenn.
