Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Buddy Bass Tourney turns 25

The 25th annual Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Buddy Bass Tournament is scheduled for May 8 on Norfork Lake.

Launch site will be the Lake Norfork Marina, east of Mountain Home on Highway 62 East.

The Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Buddy Bass Tournament is the second-largest fishing tourney held on Lake Norfork each year. This year's tournament will pay 20 places, along with first big bass and second big bass.

Merchandise will be awarded to 21st through 40th places.

First place in the tourney will win $2,000 plus a Phelix model Basscat boat and trailer.

Entry for the tournament is $65 per boat.

All fishermen and boat types are welcome to participate.

Entry forms may be picked up at West Plains Marine, Ozark Auto and Marine, Broken Bow, or online at www.hope4cf.com.

Ozark Auto and Marine sales is also raffling a 50CC scooter, with the proceeds going to Cystic Fibrosis. Raffle tickets can be purchased at Ozark Auto and Marine sales on Washington Street in West Plains.

According to event organizers, all entry fees are tax deductible.

The 2009 Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Buddy Bass Tournament raised over $12,000, bringing the total raised to over $270,000 from the event.

Over 500 fishermen took part in last year's tournament.
