Tennessee man killed in Hardy wreck

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Photo/Tammy Curtis This early morning accident along Highway 63 north of Hardy took the life of Brian Dewayne Walls, 31, of Cordova, Tennessee.
A Cordova, Tenn., man was killed in an one vehicle accident in the early morning hours of April 28 near Hardy.

According to a report provided by the Arkansas State Police Troop 1, Brian Dewayne Walls, 31, was driving a 2007 Sterling tractor trailer truck south bound on U.S. Highway 63 about 12 miles out of Mammoth Spring, when he ran off the right side of the road, after negotiating a curve. Walls then overcorrected the tractor trailer, ran off the other side of the road, turning the semi over on the passenger side. The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle as it came to rest on the left side of the highway facing north. The trailer blocked traffic in the north bound lane.

Walls was pronounced dead at the scene by Sharp County Coroner Doug Wortham. His body was taken to Heath Funeral Home in Hardy. Members of the Hardy Fire Department, first responders and Hardy Police Department worked the accident that took hours to clean up. Dail's wrecker service of Ravenden did the recovery on the vehicle as well as unloading the paper goods and general merchandise on the truck. Arkansas State Trooper Corporal Ronnie Stewart investigated the accident.
