Ronda Hall of Thayer has announced her candidacy on the Democratic ticket for Oregon County Circuit Clerk.
She stated "Steve and I have been married 33 years and are both life-long Oregon County residents. We have one daughter, Amanda, and our son-in-law, David Jens and three step-granddaughters, Brooke, Tessa and Lorin. My parents are Roy and Ruby Fuller of Thayer and my in-laws are Leo and Mary Combs Hall and the late Jueldine Honeycutt Hall of Myrtle.
"After graduating from Thayer in May 1977, I worked for the Caskey Law Office in Alton from October 1977 through August of 1978. Sept. 1, 1978, I began my career as a county clerk, when I became deputy clerk of what was then known as the Magistrate and Probate Court. Nine months later I became the chief clerk of those courts and took on the responsibility of managing those courts, which I have continued to do, through four Associate Circuit Judges and various changes to the title of the courts, until Dec. 15, 2009.
"Dec. 15, 2009, the state consolidated, on a statewide basis -- the Associate, Probate and Municipal Division for the Circuit Court, which I managed, with the circuit court; so I am now considered a Deputy Circuit Clerk."
"Throughout my career I have attended and participated in clerk training provided by the office of State Courts Administrator and will continue to do so to keep up with legislative and procedural changes affecting the court system."
"I an currently serving as Regional Director for Region 9, which is comprised of 13 counties, of the Missouri Professional Association of Court Clerks, an organization dedicated to promoting professionalism and to continuing the education of court clerks."
"The divisions of the court I managed became automated years before the Circuit Court, so I have extensive training in and experience using the Justice Information system program and others utilized by the Circuit Courts state wide. I use them on a daily basis."
"I have over 30 years experience processing, criminal, civil, probate and municipal cases, preparing annual budgets for the court and preparing and reviewing monthly financial and statistical reports required by the state."
"The courts I managed have undergone numerous state audits and all monies have been accounted for. I make every effort to comply with audit recommendations."
"In this time of budget shortfalls, I take the collection of costs and fines due the state, county or municipality very seriously and I pursue it with vigor, as that ultimately affects the citizens of Missouri."
"I am the only candidate for this office with actual experience managing courts, a responsibility I take very seriously and have enjoyed for over 30 years. I hope to continue to serve the citizens of Oregon County as your next Circuit Clerk," Hall said.
