Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan today announced that her office has awarded a grant for $3,351 to Oregon County to support efforts to ensure fair, accurate and secure elections. The grants will be used to update voter lists.
"Missouri's local elections officials do a great job providing quality customer service to every voter, and I am pleased to help provide the support and resources they need to do their jobs," Carnahan said. "My office will continue to work with local elections officials to ensure confidence and convenience for Oregon County voters on Election Day."
Carnahan's office is making over $7 million available to local governments across Missouri for the 2010 elections. Local election authorities may qualify for grants based on the number of registered voters and the number of polling places in that county or jurisdiction.
