Grizzly Golf Classic set to tee

Friday, May 21, 2010

Area golfers will want to get their gear in order so they can participate in the 15th annual Grizzly Golf Classic tournament June 11, at the West Plains Country Club.

Sponsored by the Grizzly Booster Club, the three-person-scramble event will raise funds to support team travel, student-athlete recruitment and other vital needs of the basketball and volleyball programs, as well as the men's and women's club golf teams, at Missouri State University-West Plains, organizers said.

Those attending will receive a free lunch, as well as a Grizzly golf shirt and cap.

Prizes will be awarded to tournament winners and given to those who hit the most accurate drive, the longest putt and closest to the pin on designated holes.

Check-in time for the event is 11:30 a.m. The tournament will get underway at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Entry fees are $150 per person or

$450 per team. Carts can be reserved for $25 each.

For more information or to obtain an entry form, contact Dr. Herb Lunday, Dean of Student Services, at 417-255-7225 or access a form online at www.wp.missouristate.edu.
