The new West Plains Speedway is having its first Demolition Derby June 4.
The gates open at 5 p.m. and the derby starts at 7:30 PM.
According to Public Relations director Tom Harris, plenty of fun is in store that includes an exhibition of the Modlite cars that will be racing at their regular race the following night.
There will also be a special event sponsored by West Plains Recycling that will include an appearance by the Extreme Crushing Machine.
Two classes of derby cars will crash and bang for $1,000 and $300 first-place money.
The new West Plains Speedway has complete services for the fans with comfortable seating and a great menu at the concessions stands.
Adult admission is $10 and those ages 7- to 12- years-old get in for $3. Those 6 and-under are always free.
Pit passes are $15 for this special event.
On June 5, the regular Circle Track races will be held with the Modlites as a special feature.
The Crate Late Models will be on hand, as well as IMCA Modifieds, Hobbies, Cruisers and Youth Hobbies.
General admission is $10, senior citizens $8.
