Cougar Classic ready for second year

The second annual Cougar Classic High School Invitational Golf Tournament will be on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at Coopers Hawk Golf Course in Melbourne and conclude on Wednesday, Aug. 4 at The Course on Turkey Mountain in Horseshoe Bend.

The tournament will be a 36-hole stroke play competition with awards given to the champions of the girls' and boys' divisions, along with medals for individual champions and runner-ups.

Conway St. Joseph won both the girls' and boys' divisions in 2009.

Schools committed for this year's tournament include host Izard County, Trumann, Shirley, Batesville Southside, Melbourne, Salem, Cave City and West Side Greers Ferry.
