Salem Mighty Mites to host "Beat the Heat" football camps

The Salem Mighty Mite Association will be hosting its annual football camp Aug. 6 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Salem Greyhound Stadium.

This camp is free for players in the 2nd through 6th grades.

Campers will need to wear cleats, shorts, T-shirts and should bring anything they would like to drink. The association will have refreshments and there will be hot dogs after camp is over.

The 2010 registration will also begin at this time. The registration will be $50 per participating player. This registration will include insurance for the player and their equipment, except for cleats.

Other registration times will be as follows: Aug. 9 at Preacher Roe Ballpark from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Aug. 13 at Preacher Roe Ballpark from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Aug. 16 at Preacher Roe Ballpark from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Aug. 20 at Preacher Roe Ballpark from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Last day to sign-up will be Aug. 23.
