The Salem High School Library is hosting its third Annual Talent Show on

Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Salem High School gymnasium. Any student in

grades kindergarten through 12 in the Salem School District may enter the

talent show. In the past, acts included singing, karate, instrumental,

dancing, magic, tumbling, and art.

The talent division will be divided into two categories: kindergarten

through sixth grade and seventh grade through twelfth grade. The art

division will be divided into the same categories. All entrants must be

present to win. Those interested in entering the talent show need to contact

Kim Smith-Harber at 870 895 5921 or Sandy Massey at 870 895 2456. All

entries need to be submitted by Thursday, Nov. 4.

No entry fee will be charged, but everyone (even contestants) must pay

admission at the door. Admission is $2 for students and $3 for adults. All

proceeds go to the Salem High School Library Scholarship fund. Last year, a

$1,000 scholarship was given by the SHS Library.

Cash prizes will be awarded thanks to the following businesses: North

Arkansas Electric Cooperative; Bank of Salem; Barker Funeral Home of Salem

and Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel; Mark Martin Chevrolet of

Melbourne; Greenway Equipment, Inc., of Walnut Ridge. Sonic of Salem has

also donated some Meal Deals.

Special guests will perform at the event. One of the guests is Ms. Kara

Boyd, and the other act is a surprise.

Needless to say, the night will provide much entertainment. We invite

everyone to come and join in on the fun.
