In Sharp County, three runoff elections were held Nov. 23 for the positins of mayor, alderman and justice of the peace.
In the District 7 race for Justice of the Peace, Bart Schultz defeated contender Dave Doughterty 260 to 114.
In Cherokee Village, a hotly contested race on the city council deemed current alderman for Ward 1, Position 2, Tom Thone, the victor over contender Pamela Rowland. Rowland won the General election in the number of votes, but failed to carry the required 51 percent to declare her the winner. The final tally was Thone 326 to Rowland's 160.
In another vote in Hardy, for the Ward 1, Position 1 Alderman seat, current alderman Amy Hussung defeated Melanie Dietsche 74 to 59.
Many cities and the county will experience some fresh new faces during the upcoming year.
