State Representative Marion Barry presents a Congressional Record to the family of the late Bill Nix and former Sharp County Judge Frank Arnold. Nixes wife Alice and son Mike accepted the prestigious proclamation before a crowd of family and attendees to the sale at the Dec. 6 Ash Flat Livestock Auction.
State Representative Marion Barry made his last public appearance on Dec. 6 at the Ash Flat Livestock Auction before his retirement after many years of service to the First Congressional District.

Barry presented a Congressional Record to the Nix family in honor of the late Bill Nix, owner and founder of the business.

Barry explained the Congressional Record was something that would forever be a part of history in Washington, D.C.

The late Bill Nix died early this year and left behind a legacy. As one of the oldest and most successful businesses in Sharp County, his local contributions were far reaching. To honor him, Barry recorded information about him, his family and business, so his contributions will not be forgotten.

Those attending the presentation were able to witness the event as Barry and many members of three generations of the Nix family gathered on the floor of the auction barn for the presentation.

An award well deserved, however his last name is Berry not Barry.
