With a 5-4 win over the visiting Salem Lady Greyhounds March 22, the Viola Lady Longhorns ran their record to a spotless 7-0 on the young softball season.
And the Lady Horns had to rally to do so.
Salem grabbed the lead with three runs in the second and one in the fourth.
But Viola responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth and moved in front with three more in the fifth.
Kelsey Amberger earned the win in relief for Viola, giving up three hits in four innings.
Lady Longhorn starter Kiersten Moore fanned three, walked three and allowed two hits in three innings of work.
Ashley Brooks took the loss for the Lady Greyhounds, allowing seven hits while striking out six in seven innings.
Leslie Shrable had two hits and an RBI for Viola, while Alex Duncan also rapped a pair of hits.
Alex Kurtzweil had two hits for Salem.
The Lady Horns knocked off Yelleville-Summit 6-2 on March 21.
Lindsey Walker had a big three-run double for Viola.
Moore tossed the win, striking out four, while giving up two hits and no earned runs for Viola.
