Jessie Aliene Thompson was born the daughter of Cleo W. Johnson and Violet Brawley Johnson on July 23, 1932, at Alton, Mo., and departed this life May 15, 2011, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 78 years.
She was united in marriage September 5, 1949, in Hardy, Ark., to Everett Boyd Thompson.
She is survived by her husband, Everett Boyd Thompson of the home in West Plains, Mo.; three children, Charella Lavene Reichardt and husband, John, of St. Louis, Mo., Deloria Kay Hendon of St. Charles, Mo., and Jonathan Lowell Thompson and wife, Donna, of Arnold, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; six sisters, Audrey Thompson and husband, George, of O'Fallon, Mo., Mabel Shields of Alton, Mo., Frances Deckard of Yuma, Arizona, Betty Roberts and husband, Kenny, of Alton, Mo., Phyllis Shute of Arizona and Elda Bassham and husband, Larry, of Nixa, Mo.; one brother, Jerry Johnson and wife, Darlene, of Alton, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Deloris Fay McCoy; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Frank Johnson and one sister, Pat Terwilliger. Aliene was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making quilts.
She was of the Pentecostal faith and will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
She will truly be missed by her family and her many friends.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 18, 2011, in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer, Mo., with Brother James Ray officiating.
Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. in Thayer.
