Tri-County All-Stars win Summer Meltdown championship

The 8-and-under Tri-County All-Stars won the Andy's Summer Meltdown Baseball Championship in Jonesboro on June 4 with a dramatic come-from-behind victory in the bottom of the sixth inning, winning 19-18 over the Arkansas Elite.

Gavin Guiltner's two-out triple drove in the game-winning runs for the Tri-County All-Stars.

The Tri-County All Stars earlier defeated the Arkansas Elite, the second-ranked team in the state in USSSA, 18-17, to open the tournament on June 11, and defeated the East Arkansas Red Birds, 9-2.

On June 11, the Tri-County All-Stars defeated the Paragould 8's, 17-8, to reach the championship game.

The Tri-County All Stars are comprised of players from ICC, Viola and Salem. Team members are Chase Orf, Landon McBride, Coby Everett and Noah Everett from ICC; Gage Harris and Carter Graves from Viola, and Gabe Miller, Luke Keen, Gavin Guiltner and Jaron Burrow from Salem. Coaches include Matt Orf, Billy McBride, Terry Harris and Troy Burrow.
