An altercation at a Calico Rock restaurant Sunday afternoon resulted in the arrest of Joshua Matthew Kagebein, 31, of Calico Rock on charges of public intoxication, battery third degree, and terroristic threatening second degree.
According to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence, everyone involved in the altercation were employees of the restaurant and had been on a float trip earlier in the day and had been drinking. Kagebein remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending an appearance before a judge.
In an unrelated matter, Darren Weldon Wyatt, 42, of Calico Rock was arrested June 20 on charges of terroristic threatening second degree-three counts. Wyatt is accused of going to a Pineville residence and threatening bodily harm to three people. Wyatt posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $570 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
On June 23, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call in Calico Rock in which the victim stated that her husband threw her against the wall of the home, broke her arm, and destroyed dishes in the home. Leonard Raymond Vandervegte, 40, left the scene and was later found under the house. He was charged with felony domestic battering third degree, resisting arrest, and two counts of child endangerment. During the arrest, Vandervegte was tased after failing to comply with orders of the arresting officer. Vandervegte remains in the Izard County Detention Facility, pending an appearance before a judge.
Richard Trever Armstrong, 33, of Fayetteville was arrested June 26 in Melbourne on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding, and a warrant for failure to pay fines. Armstrong remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Jim D. Stapleton, 65, of Calico Rock was arrested June 23 on a harassment warrant stemming from an earlier disturbance with another Calico Rock man. Stapleton made provisions for bond the day of his arrest and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Courtney Rene Hall, 28, of Calico Rock was arrested June 23 on the charge of disorderly conduct. Hall posted bond in the amount of $205 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Donald Wayne Patterson, 48, of Cave City was arrested June 21 on a terrorist threatening warrant. Patterson, who owns an Oxford business, is accused of threatening a neighbor to his business. Patterson posted bond in the amount of $250, was given a court date and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Samuel Luke Malloy, 20, of Mt. Pleasant was arrested June 21 on a Sharp County warrant stemming from an earlier altercation. Malloy was transferred to Sharp County the day of his arrest.
Eight inmates of the Izard County Detention Facility were transferred to the Arkansas Department of Correction. Transferred June 22 were: Brian Lewis Crawford, age 25 of Salem; John Edward Rone, age 23 of Melbourne; Michael M. Lewis, age 29 of Salem; Andy Jack Roark, age 27 of Thayer, Mo; Billie Earl Shelton, Jr., age 46 of Cherokee Village; and Darren Eugene Burch, age 45 of Ash Flat.
John Marx Price, age 56 of Salem and Michael Galbraith, age 55 of Salem were transferred on June 24.
