R. Clinton Hawkins, 64, of Oxford, Ark., was born on May 30, 1947, in Walnut Ridge Ark., the son of Ralph S. and Lyla W. (Smith) Hawkins. He departed this life on June 29, 2011, at his home, at the age of 64 years and 30 days.
Clinton was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Burleson on August 24, 1968, at Lead Hill, Ark. He worked as a licensed abstractor. Clinton was a member of the Wiseman Baptist Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Mary Ellen Hawkins of Oxford; one son, Joseph Blain Hawkins and wife Lindsay of Lead Hill; two daughters, Heather Marie Auxier and husband David of Missouri, and Morgan Brittiany Bray and husband Nic of Mountain View; mother-in-law, Ella Marie Burleson of Lead Hill; two sisters, Beverly Watkins and husband Donald of Conway and Angela Huenefeld and husband Paul of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Cobie, Caiha and Carys Auxier and Avery, Cael and Jordan Bray; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Burpee Burleson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Keesee Community Church in Monarch, Ark., with Bro. Alan Winberry and Bro. Nic Bray officiating. Interment was at Keesee Cemetery, under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Ark.
Memorials may be sent to the Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.
