On the morning of July 4, Cherokee Village Fire Department volunteers hosted their annual pancake breakfast at the Baseheart fire station.
There was a good turn out. The department would like to thank local residents for their support and the hard work and planning of volunteers, despite the scattered showers.
Ticket sales indicate the department raised approximately $1,375.65, after expenses for supplies.
Trivent Company, of Appleton, Wisc., helped sponsor the fundraiser. Peace Lutheran Church of Cherokee Village donated $500.
Other sponsors were Heath Funeral home, Liberty Bank, Hometown Radio FM 104.7, Highland High School , Mcdonald's of Hardy, King & Rhodes Real Estate, Greg Prenger Service Station. Devine Mercy Church, First National Banking Company of Cherokee Village, Sandy Murphy - Modern Woodmen of America in Ash Flat and Two Guys in the Ozarks.
Funds raised by the volunteers will be used to purchase needed equipment within the department. This year, the department has started to replace some of the its turnout gear.
