Fulton County Patriots will host property rights advocate Doreen Hannes at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Salem VFW Hall on Highway 395.

Hannes is a member and regular speaker of the Ozarks Property Rights Congress in Missouri. She is a frequent guest on several radio talk shows and a regular on the "Derry Brownfield Show," "The Power Hour" and "Liberty Round Table." Hannes writes for the "News with Views" and has a blog called "Truth Farmer." Her particular area of interest has been the effects of World Trade Organization Free Trade Agreements on the livelihoods of U.S. citizens and the impact on independent agriculture since 2005 and is a leader in the national movement to halt the National Animal Identification System.

Hannes will speak on "Soft Law, the New Method of Governance" and will relate this directly to agriculture and land use and its relation to food.

Fulton County Patriots meets every first and third Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the FVW Hall in Salem. All meetings are open to the public.
