The July 30 shooting death of a Fulton County woman remains a mystery.

Fulton County Deputies and Salem Police found Leah Burch, 22, dead after receiving a 911 call, on the evening of July 30, reporting a shooting at 1421 Magnolia Drive, in the Wheeling area.

Burch had been shot in the head with a .38 caliber pistol and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Sheriff Buck Foley, others at the address reported that Burch and her boyfriend had been drinking and arguing prior to the shooting.

While the boyfriend was questioned, he has not been arrested and his name has not been released.

Burch's body was transported to the State Medical Examiner's office in Little Rock.

Through an autopsy and forensic testing, the medical examiner is being asked to try to determine the manner of death; whether the shooting appears to be homicide, accidental or self-inflicted.

Leah Jean Burch was the mother of two children, Damian and Dexter.

Family and friends plan to hold a memorial service for Burch on August 12 at 7 p.m., at Salem City Park.
