Rhonda R. Miller, 35, of Doniphan was seriously injured at 2:53 p.m. Aug. 28 when the 1996 Pontiac Sunfire she was driving eastbound on Highway 160, four miles east of Riverton, ran off the right side of the highway and hit a utility pole. Miller's passenger, David L. Conn, 44, of Doniphan sustained minor injuries. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. Miller was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Cecil R. Rutledge, 22, of Thayer was seriously injured at 1:40 p.m. Aug. 29 on Highway 142 six miles west of Doniphan when a 1997 Chevrolet driven by Billy R. Colburn, 49, of Doniphan pulled into the path of his 2008 Pontiac. Colburn sustained minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan. Rutledge's passenger, Hannah M. Elliott, 21, of Thayer sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Ripley County Memorial Hospital. Rutledge was airlifted to Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, Tenn. It is unknown if Elliott was wearing a seatbelt. Rutledge and Colburn were not.
Kimberly D. Stafford, 28, of West Plains sustained minor injuries at 12:25 a.m. Aug. 30 when her 2001 Saturn hit the rear of a 2005 Dodge truck driven by Tracy N. Lamb, 39, of West Plains, on Route CC three miles west of West Plains. Lamb and her passengers, Oscar O. Caughron, 41, of West Plains and James A. Caughron, 45, of Koshkonong sustained minor injuries. All were taken to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. The accident happened as Strafford pulled from a side road onto Route CC and hit the truck's rear, causing both vehicles to go off the south side of the road. All were wearing seatbelts.
