Lowell Emmett Ozbirn, 97, of Salem, Ark., was born on January 28, 1914, in Salem, Ark., the son of Raymond Mack and Nellie (Gargus) Ozbirn. He departed this life on August 31, 2011, at Southfork Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Ark.
Lowell was united in marriage to Vola Gertrude Hall on November 12, 1932, at Hardy, Ark. He was a farmer and a member of the Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Ark.
Survivors include one daughter, Sybil Beaver of Camden, Ark.; three grandchildren, Karen Arant (Richard) of Hot Springs Village, Ark., Doris Green (Mike) of Hot Springs, Ark., and Stan Perryman of Hot Springs, Ark.; five great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother Homer Ozbirn.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 2, 2011, at the Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Ark., with Bro. David Gibson and Bro. Mike Yates officiating. Interment was in the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Ark.
Pallbearers were Sam Casey, Donnie Lance, Jake Benton, Gale Kersey, LaVern Lindvall and Richard Irby.
Honorary pallbearers were Ron Plumlee, Nelson Bassham, Keith McHenry and James Watkins.
Memorials preferred to the Salem Church of Christ.
