A Black Rock man was arrested Sept. 2 after stealing a generator and confessing to other crimes.

According to a press release provided by the Sharp County Sheriff's Department, Sharp County Deputy Gary Mitchell and Arkansas State Police Special Agent Wendell Jines arrested Joseph Jason Stallings, 40, on outstanding warrants for theft of property and criminal trespass.

These charges stemmed from a Sept. 2 incident where a generator was reported stolen from a residence near Highway 345 in Ash Flat. Stallings was a suspect in the crime after his vehicle description was given by a neighbor who witnessed the theft.

Stallings was interviewed later the same day by Sharp County Chief Deputy David Huffmaster. In a post Miranda statement, Stallings confessed to the burglary and stealing property from three additional residences in the area. The generator was recovered. (call and see if they also recovered other merchandise in this case).

Stallings remains in the Sharp County Jail on charges of residential burglary and theft of property. His bond was set at $15,000.
