Lauren Isbell and Nathan Gann from the East Arkansas Agency on Aging gave presentations about 9-11 to classes at the Imboden Area Charter School on Thursday, Sept. 8. Each presentation was geared to the appropriate grade level. Books were read about firefighters, police and emergency personnel during the 9-11 attacks. The fourth and fifth grades were read a book about Harvey, a reconditioned fireboat that was used during 9-11 to help put out the fires. Another book was about a couple of dogs named Pepper and Rover remembering how 9-11 affected them and the humans of New York City. The presenters also discussed the importance of firefighters, police and emergency personnel in our communities, and about fire drills both at school and at home.
