Thayer thanks city tax collector

Friday, October 7, 2011

Dear Editor:

It all began on Monday, Sept. 22, 1986, at 8 a.m. sharp. Mrs. Janice Tolar assumed the role of city tax collector for the city of Thayer. For the past 25 years, Janice has been the early bird on the block. The first one to arrive in the morning, she prepares City Hall for daily operations.

Janice has made herself indispensable to the city with her knowledge of municipal law and procedures. She serves not only as the city tax collector, but also as assistant city clerk.

Janice has earned the deep respect of her coworkers and is loved and appreciated by all. Always willing to make time to help anyone who needs her help, Janice makes the day at City Hall run smoother.

The mayor, Board of Aldermen, clerks at City Hall and city work crews would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt congratulations and we love you, Janice.

Mayor Earl D. Rogers

Aldermen Steve Alford, Mike Harber, Terry Tillman and Bob Grimes

Utility Billing Clerk Cindy Callahan

Municipal Court Clerk Lori Hargus

City Clerk Donna Martin
