$2,500 to honor Emmitt Whitten gifted to Calico Rock Museum

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

The Calico Rock Museum Foundation is pleased to announce a $2,500 matching gift to the museum expansion project.

The gift is being given in honor of Mr. Emmitt Whitten, long-time educator at Calico Rock High School.

The matching gift is being given by a former student of Mr. Whitten's in appreciation for his love of history and education.

The foundation has the month of October to raise funds to match the $2,500 gift.

The donor will provide up to $2,500 to the foundation in November based on October gifts.

This gift and the match will provide the funds needed to name the one-room schoolhouse gallery that is planned to be built in January in Mr. Whitten's memory.

To donate

If you would like to contribute to the matching gift, send your tax-deductible contribution to Calico Rock Museum Foundation, P.O. Box 569, Calico Rock, Arkansas 72519.
