Area Wide News: Local News: Sharp County to give flu shots in Highland (10/12/11)

"Hold your nose and count to three!" Those were the instructions from Health Department Nurse Susan Coleman as she gave a flu shot, on Oct. 10, at Salem Elementary School. Schools in Salem, Viola and Mammoth Spring were among the first in the state to host flu clinics, as the Arkansas Department of Health began its annual effort to stop the spread of flu by giving shots or a nasal spray vaccine to students.

The Sharp County Health Unit will give flu shots from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 28 at the A.L. Hudson Center in Highland. There will be no out-of-pocket expense. Those who do not have health insurance will not be asked for payment.
