Friendship Baptist Church in Highland will observe its homecoming/anniversary with services beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 23. There will be a showing of a DVD of the church's history during the Sunday school hour, as well as special music from the Larry Nelson family of Clinton and Paul Miller family of Gulfport, Miss. Between the morning and afternoon services, a fellowship meal will be provided by the church for all in attendance. Activities will be provided for children and adults. Friendship Church began in a storefront building in October 1990 when Pastor Mike Stanley and his family moved to the area from eastern Oklahoma to plant the church. In 1997, the congregation moved to the church's location at 32 Liberty Hill Road. The church has continued to grow. A building program was launched in 2004, and the church moved into its current facility in 2005. All are invited. For information, call Pastor Stanley at 870-856-4418 or 870-847-0073.
