The guest speaker was Lori Benedict. Her opening remarks were "the anatomy of a bill." She also spoke about economic development for the area, and related some of her experiences in Little Rock since her election in 2010.
The group received reports from the Sharp County Republican Women, the Young Republicans and the Quorum Court. The group discussed the district meeting in Walnut Ridge on Oct. 22, the special election to be held on Nov. 8 and the Patriot Meeting in Cherokee Village in the meeting hall of the First Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
There was a discussion regarding committee assignments and plans for the Ronald Reagan Day Dinner were finalized. The dinner will be Nov. 3 at the Cherokee Elementary School cafeteria in Cherokee Village. The doors will be open at 6 p.m. with dinner being around 6:30 p.m.

Filing fees for Republican candidates for the 2012 election will be set at the November meeting. We invite all to attend our next meeting. The meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m. The Republican Party of Sharp County meets on the second Thursday of the month at the County Court House in Ash Flat at 7 p.m. The next meeting is Nov. 10.
