Blane Lynn Bourgeois, 54, of Salem, Ark., was born on April 2, 1957, in Bossier City, La., son of Travis Joseph and Nellie Irene (Kimble) Bourgeois. He departed this life on Oct. 23, 2011, in Salem, Ark.
Blane worked for a brief time as a marine biologist researcher for Louisiana State University and for the last several years, he was an heirloom gardener, trying to save species that were non-hybrid native plants. His true love was music and he served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his parents, Travis and Nellie Bourgeois of Salem, Ark.; one sister, Karen Bourgeois of Salem, Ark.; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Trinity Bourgeois, and brother, Wayne Lee Bourgeois.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Ark., with Niki and Brennan de Soto officiating.
